The United States of America is a great nation, there can be no doubt, in fact it is the greatest nation ever created in the history of human civilization. Yet we know that to maintain such a country we must have the flow of water to our citizenry or all is for not. The Romans knew this all too well and we should be serious about a back-up plan to deliver water to the American People in times of crisis. I would therefore like to take this next period to discuss a theory of mine using the Ancient Silk Roads distribution of trade and apply such practice to a potential FEMA back-up supply plan for water in times of Natural Disaster, Droughts or War.
You see, in the last big drought there were already cities without water, water had to be trucked in, which taught many delivery companies a thing or two about how best to go about such things. Remember water underground and on the surface of the planet follows lines and geography, just like silk roads and erosion patterns. Cities are also generally along rivers for water. In times of severe droughts the last town out, loses water first; for instance between Brownsville, TX at the bottom of the Rio Grande. Also if you look at NM and their drought, all these cities are along roads, delivering water would be a matter of following FWYs and other land routes along what is similar to the old silk roads. If you look at the Silk Roads there are several routes which all go the same general direction. In the US there are multiple ways to go various directions as well, as our road system is set up as such.
If we step back from the situation and look at a map of the United States we see that we have a lot of options on routes and deliveries and in times of natural disasters we need to look at all potential routes and what if scenarios to insure we can get water supplies to our people. So consider this in 2006.
